About Me

I am a "returning student" working toward my elementary education degree. I have learned the hard way, although the years of life experience will serve me well, that I should have stayed in school in the late 70's and early 80's. I am the eldest of a military officer and attorney which probably explains a lot about my personality. I was born in North Carolina, have lived in many other states, to include New Mexico and Hawai'i, as well as Germany. I met my husband in Texas where all my family still is, but he is from the Hoosier state. I have been married 25 years, work full time with mentally and/or disabled 5th graders, and have two great sons who attend Ball State University. We are active in our church in historic Irvington. We are also active with camping, biking, boating, etc. My husband and youngest son and I were part of a 6-person mountain bike team who won first place in a 24-hr race several years ago. We also enjoy spectator sports - GO COLTS! I even bought a commemorative brick for the walkway at Lucas Oil Stadium. I have completed two mini-marathons(13.1 miles)and am in training with my husband to complete my first Hilly Hundred (100 miles on a bicycle in Brown County) in October. I am also currently marketing a book I have published based on a poem I wrote about a mission trip to Mexico. I am a Realtor and a distributor for Mona Vie, a great nutritional juice. It allows me the energy I need to get everything I need to do accomplished.
